greenpoison RC5 Tutorial

Unsure what jailbreak to use? Click here to find out.

If you would like, feel free to watch this tutorial in video form.

greenpois0n RC5 is the latest version of the jailbreak and is a very good overall choice for a jailbreak tool. While not as simple to use as some other jailbreaks it still remains straightforward to use and robust for all jailbreakers. As with all jailbreaks it is highly recommended that you connect your device to iTunes and let it sync to back up all of your data first. You should not lose any data in the jailbreak but there’s always a chance that something could go wrong so it’s a good idea to be safe.

To start, download greenpois0n here (if the link is down try here) for your Windows or Mac computer. Linux support will be available soon.

At this point you need to put your device into DFU mode. It’s a simple process and greenpois0n will walk you through it. Once you are ready to begin click Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU). If you drop a button or mistime something just let your device boot normally and try again.

Once you have successfully entered DFU mode you are almost done. Simply click Jailbreak! and let greenpois0n work. Your device will turn on and off several times and will begin flashing text across the screen but don’t worry, this is normal.

After greenpois0n is done your device should look identical to how it did before with the addition of a new application named Loader. Open the new application.
