greenpois0n RC3 Tutorial

Unsure what jailbreak to use? Click here to find out.

If you would like, feel free to watch this tutorial in video form.

greenpois0n is a very similar jailbreak to limera1n, however it has the slight advantage of supporting the iPod touch 2G. Aside from that you will find that greenpois0n is a very competent jailbreak that gets the job done. As with all jailbreaks it is highly recommended that you connect your device to iTunes and let it sync to back up all of your data first. You should not lose any data in the jailbreak but there’s always a chance that something could go wrong so it’s a good idea to be safe.

Important note: Your iTunes version must be at 10, not at 10.1 or above.

To start, download greenpois0n for your Windows or Mac computer.

Connect your device to your computer (if iTunes pops up just close it) and then turn it off by holding the Sleep button until you get ‘Slide to Power Off’. Now open greenpois0n.

At this point you need to put your device into DFU mode. It’s a simple process and greenpois0n will walk you through it. Once you are ready to begin click Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU). If you drop a button or mistime something just let your device boot normally and try again.

Once you have successfully entered DFU mode you are almost done. Simply click Jailbreak! and let greenpois0n work. Your device will turn on and off several times and will begin flashing text across the screen but don’t worry, this is normal.

After greenpois0n is done your device should look identical to how it did before with the addition of a new application named Loader. Open the new application.
