For quite a while the iPad has dominated the tablet world with other companies struggling to find a niche but in the last year things have changed. The Amazon Kindle Fire and Google Nexus 7 have shown that there’s a market for a 7 inch tablet at the $200 price point where even the $400 iPad 2 can’t compete. In this context an iPad Mini seems like it could make a lot of sense for Apple.
